Rouge, live-read at The Gladstone Hotel, Toronto – September 30, 2015

Rouge read by Julie Nesrallah

I’m not even sure how this has all happened but select stories from Rouge will be read by the incomparable, renowned mezzo-soprano Julie Nesrallah, backed by an original symphonic score by indie orchestra Euphonia (wrote specifically for Rouge!) and book-ended by songs from Beck’s Song Reader and the music of Debussy’s Trois Chansons de Bilitis. It’s opening The Gladstone Hotel’s Salon Series, September 30, 2015 at 8pm.

Tickets will go quickly. Get them here. And then please come say hello to me. (I’ll be blushing a bit shyly in the corner.)

Rouge is coming out in paperback!

September 4, 2015

paperback.jpgThis little (truly little) book has been proofed and sent to the printer and should be available for sale as early as next week. The cover is matte. It should feel warm in your hands. The pages are cream, the colour of saved love letters.

It will take up so little space in your bedside table or in your handbag. I hope you’ll re-read the stories in long baths and before dates (and maybe even between meetings at work – why not?).
